3D Systems Appoints Sales, Marketing Vice President
Contact: VALENCIA, Calif., September 28, 1998 - 3D Systems Corporation (Nasdaq NMS: TDSC) today announced the appointment of Charles Wilson as vice president of sales and marketing worldwide. Prior to joining 3D, Mr. Wilson, age 49, was president and chief executive officer of Axil Computer, Inc., a subsidiary of Hyundai Electronics America. Mr. Wilson joined Hyundai in 1996 with the acquisition of Ixia Corporation, a company that designed and manufactured computer servers, which he co-founded and lead as chief executive officer. Before Hyundai, Mr. Wilson was general manager of Meiko Scientific Corporation and, earlier, served at Digital Equipment Corporation in several executive capacities, including general manager, parallel systems, and group product marketing manager. At 3D, Mr. Wilson has responsibility for sales operations in Europe, Asia and the United States, as well as marketing and communications. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and will reside in Southern California. 3D Systems manufactures rapid product development systems that enable users to move from concept models to finished parts faster, at lower cost, and at higher quality than traditional methods. 3D Systems' equipment fabricates solid objects using digital input from CAD/CAM/CAE computer systems, substantially reducing the time and costs of bringing new products to market.
