VALENCIA, Calif., January 6, 1999 - 3D Systems Corporation (Nasdaq NMS: TDSC) announced today that it has signed a patent cross-license agreement with two Japanese corporations, NTT DATA and NTT DATA CMET. Under the terms of this agreement, 3D Systems has granted NTT DATA and NTT DATA CMET a non-exclusive license under all of 3D Systems' patents to produce and sell stereolithography systems throughout the Asia-Pacific area, and NTT DATA and NTT DATA CMET have granted 3D Systems a non-exclusive license under all of NTT DATA's and NTT DATA CMET's patents to produce and sell stereolithography systems throughout the world. The parties have agreed to maintain other terms of the cross-license agreement in confidence.

According to A. Sidney Alpert, 3D Systems' vice president and general counsel, the cross-license agreement with NTT DATA and NTT DATA CMET, following the previous cross-license with Sony Corporation, reinforces 3D Systems' strategy of licensing others to practice stereolithography only in the Asia-Pacific area. Mr. Alpert stated, "We intend to utilize our strong patent portfolio to maintain the exclusive position we enjoy in stereolithography here in the United States and in Europe, while licensing that portfolio only in the Asia-Pacific area."

3D Systems provides solid imaging products and services that let users move quickly from three-dimensional designs to finished parts, at a significantly lower cost and higher quality than more traditional methods. The company's systems - through its patented stereolithography and 3D printing technologies - fabricate solid objects from digital input, substantially cutting the time and costs of bringing new products to market. 3D Systems was founded in 1986 and is recognized as the world leader in solid imaging.
