Y2K Compliance Definition 3D Systems Solid Imaging

3D Systems' products rely very little on date processing or date calculation. Therefore, our systems will be only minimally affected, if at all, by the Year 2000 crossover. Our primary concern with Year 2000 issues is almost completely focused on the 3rd-party computers and operating systems we use to control our systems. Because of this, we are relying on the manufacturers of those systems to help us determine the impact their systems may have on our products.

Several definitions of Year 2000 Readiness are circulating within government and industry. These definitions can get somewhat technical in nature, but all basically focus on the idea that a system will perform the same during and after the year 2000 as it performed before the year 2000. That is, the arrival of the year 2000 will have no effect on the functionality of a product.

Therefore, we have chosen to make a simple statement of what we consider to be a Year 2000 ready product, one we believe meets our customers' Year 2000 requirements.

3D Systems' Year 2000 Readiness Definition:

A 3D Systems-designated Year 2000 ready product will reliably and consistently perform its intended function following the year 2000 date change, when operated in accordance with published operational instructions and process parameters.

Prudent risk management requires that 3D Systems test the various hardware/software systems that we sell to verify, for purposes of contract compliance and customer satisfaction, that they perform correctly through the year 2000 rollover, and any other foreseeable "poison pill" dates.
