Y2K Compliance FAQ 3D Systems Solid Imaging

My company needs a letter stating that our 3D Systems' products are Year 2000 ready. Where can I get one?
These pages contain our Year 2000 readiness definition and our product readiness tables. Together they should be sufficient for your company. If your company requires additional information, you can request it from our Year 2000 Coordinator.

What does 3D Systems mean by "Year 2000 ready"?
Our Year 2000 readiness definition can be found under "Readiness Definition" in the navigation bar on the left of this screen. When we announce a system as Year 2000 ready, we mean we have tested in accordance with our testing plans and processes and have determined that the system will perform its intended function before and after the year 2000 crossover.

How can I tell if my 3D Systems' product is Year 2000 ready?
These pages contain readiness status tables for all 3D Systems' products. If you do not find your product on any of the tables, please send an email to doyler@3dsystems.com, and we will help you determine the readiness status of your product.

The readiness table says my product won't be tested. Why not?
It is not possible for us to test every combination of hardware, controller, and software release. The fact that we have chosen not to test a particular combination indicates we believe there is likelihood that the combination will not meet our requirements. This most likely happens with earlier systems with i386/i486-based controllers, or with software that will be more than two versions out of date by the year 2000. It is important for our customers to have Year 2000 ready products, and that is the purpose of identifying an upgrade path for all of our products.

What will happen if I have non-ready products when the year 2000 comes?

For non-tested products, since 3D Systems did not test these products for Year 2000 readiness, we cannot say with certainty what problems you might encounter with them. For tested products, we have published data on what failures were encountered during testing. 3D Systems will provide an upgrade path for those systems, which might include software only, or hardware and software.

Is there an upgrade program for my product?
3D Systems will provide an upgrade pathway for all its products. These pages will be regularly updated to provide specific information on the upgrade pathway for your system.
